A particularly successful outcome of the project has been the introduction of students as Culture Crew members in Iceland, Finland, and North Macedonia. These students actively engage in the preparation and execution of arts experiences at their schools, significantly influencing the process at several stages. Not only do they help organize and implement these events, but they may also play a role in selecting the performances and evaluating them afterward, providing valuable feedback.
This initiative offers numerous benefits beyond enriching students' exposure to professional performing arts. The role of Culture Crew allows students to develop important life skills, regardless of their academic standing. The position is practical, accessible, and empowering, offering opportunities for all students—including those who might find traditional academics challenging—to thrive and grow through hands-on experience.
In Norway, the municipality of Færder has been particularly successful in applying lessons from The WOW Experience. They have expanded a practice that involves a brief, structured debriefing session after each performance. During these sessions, students across all classes immediately discuss their experiences, guided by three simple questions posed by their teachers. This practice not only enhances students' ability to articulate their emotions but also fosters a new form of interaction within the classroom. A survey suggests that this method is contributing to greater social inclusion among students. Inspired by the success at Teigar Secondary School, the municipality has recommended that all primary and secondary schools adopt this approach.
